The Death of a Strongman

Exodus 2:23 (NKJV) Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.

In this scripture “the king of Egypt” was symbolic of a force that had control over the children of Israel. The bondage represented here was a “generational” bondage. Once the strongman aka king of Egypt died, the cries of those in bondage reaches the ears of God.

Whatever your bondage is or the one you are praying for, bind the strongman of that sin and your cries will reach the ears of God.

For You Said, I will surely…God You Said

For You said, “I will surely…..

Isaiah 43:26

“Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your case, that you may be acquitted.”

When God promises you that He will perform certain promises in your life. You must remind Him of those promises and what He said He would do. Let’s look at how Jacob reminded God of His promise to him when it looked like it was going in the other direction.

For You Said….surely I will….

“Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau; for I fear him, lest he come and attack me and the mother with the children. For You said, “I will surely treat you well, and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude”’” (Gen. 32:11-12).

What has God said the He would “surely” do in your life? Are there still prophetic words that have been spoken that You are still waiting to see in your life. Jacob reminded God and then wrestled with the angel until he got what was promised to him and you have to do the same. What has God promised He would surely do in your lifetime?

For You Said Lord that You would surely…..(You fill in the blanks)

So if you’ve been waiting for months, years or decades for a prophecy to come to pass—and when you’re afraid people and circumstances are going to kill your promise—do what Jacob did. Pray. Remind God of His prophetic word. Wrestle with God in prayer until you have the faith to get up and run toward His perfect will despite what things look like—even if you have to run with a limp. Amen

Seducing Spirits – God You Said

The enemy comes after anyone called by God. He uses your weaknesses to seduce you away from what God has called you to do. No one has to tell us our weakness, we know them well!

God You Said

1 Timothy 4:1 – The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.

Seduce is defined according to Webster as:

  1. :  to persuade to disobedience or disloyalty

  2. 2:  to lead astray usually by persuasion or false promises

The enemy uses seducing spirits to persuade you to disobey the commandments of God. He uses the five senses that God gave us to persuade with false promises.

Anything that would cause you to walk away from God is caused by seducing spirits. Many have walked away from Christianity and other commitments such as marriage by being enticed by the false promises other faiths or people introduce.

When most hear the word seduce they think of the lusts of the flesh and while this is also true, seduction is much more.

  • Adam and Eve lost their position due to the seducing spirit in the form of a serpent. The serpent twisted God’s words to make it seem that nothing would happen if the fruit was eaten.
  • Samson lost his anointing at the hands of a seductress, Delilah. Delilah used sex and “love” to gain the secret to his anointing. Once she got it, she was gone and so was his anointing.
  • Lucifer attempted to manipulate Jesus by offering things that Jesus already had control over by using fleshly desires. The enemy offered Jesus things He created it.
  • Potiphar’s wife attempted to tempt Joseph by sexual offering.

His Word is to be used as a guide to keep from falling prey to the enemy’s seductive ways.

Enemy Pursuit- God You Said

God has given us supernatural super hero strength to go after our enemies. We don’t wait for them to attack, we go after them.

When David asked God should he pursue, God told him yes pursue and that he would recover all.

ITS TIME FOR A ENEMY PURSUIT! Make a list of all strongmen, spirits and go after them, DESTINY and PURPOSE are waiting on you.

God You Said

““I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed. And I have destroyed them and wounded them, So that they could not rise; They have fallen under my feet.

You have also given me the necks of my enemies, So that I destroyed those who hated me. They looked, but there was none to save; Even to the LORD, but He did not answer them. Then I beat them as fine as the dust of the earth; I trod them like dirt in the streets, And I spread them out.

The foreigners submit to me; As soon as they hear, they obey me. The foreigners fade away, And come frightened from their hideouts.”

The Whole Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10 – 18)

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— In JESUS Name, Amen!

Piece of Armor Use How it Applies to your Life
Strong Belt Truth Satan fights with lies, and sometimes his lies sound like truth; but only believers have God’s truth which can defeat Satan’s lies.
Breastplate God’s Approval Satan often attacks our hearts — the seat of our emotions, self-worth, and trust. God’s approval is the breastplate that protects our hearts. He approves of us because he loves us and sent his Son to die for our sins.
Shoes Readiness to Spread the Good News Satan wants us to think that telling others the Good News is a worthless and hopeless task — the size of the task is to too big and the negative responses are too much to handle. But the “shoes” God gives us are the motivation to continue to proclaim the true peace which is available in God — News everyone needs to hear.
Shield Faith What we see are Satan’s attacks in the form of insults, setbacks, and temptations. But the shield of faith protects us from Satan’s flaming arrows. With God’s perspective we can see beyond our circumstances and know that ultimate victory is ours.
Helmet Salvation Satan wants to make us doubt God, Jesus and our salvation. The helmet protects our minds from doubting God’s saving work for us.
Sword The Spirit, the Word of God The word is the only weapon of offense in this list of armor. There are times when we need to take the offensive against Satan. When we are tempted, we need to trust in the truth of God’s Word.

A Distressed Cry….God You Said

Something happens when God’s people call out in distress!

Distress is defined as “extreme anxiety, sorrow, or pain”, this is the place where one basically exhausts themselves of their own will. They are crying out for God to hear them and asking Him to intervene.

God You Said…..that when the distress cry (This is a cry that angers God)

2 Samuel 22:7-22

  • He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry entered His ears.
  • The earth shook and trembled; The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken,
  • Smoke went up from His nostrils, And devouring fire from His mouth; Coals were kindled by it.
  • He bowed the heavens also, and came down with darkness under His feet.
  • He rode upon a cherub, and flew; And He was seen upon the wings of the wind.
  • He made darkness canopies around Him, Dark waters and thick clouds of the  skies. From the brightness before Him coals of fire were kindled.
  • The Lord thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered His voice.
  • He sent out arrows and scattered them; Lightning bolts, and He vanquished them.
  • Then the channels of the sea were seen, The foundations of the world were  uncovered, At the rebuke of the Lord, At the blast of the breath of His nostrils.
  • He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters.

“He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me; For they were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the Lord was my support.”

  • He also brought me out into a broad place;
  • He delivered me because He delighted in me.

5 STONES – Goliath had relatives!

We all are familiar with the story of David and Goliath. We know that David throws a stone and it lands in the center of Goliath’s forehead and he falls down dead.

Me being the person that I am asked the Lord, why did he pick up 5 when there was only 1 giant standing before him?

Were you aware that Goliath had four relatives? You know how it is in a family, if one goes down the others come to defend the fallen. Take vengeance on the offender. Then, it might occur where a retaliation was made, and then more relatives might get involved on both sides, and an escalation of violence could possibly follow. David knew that if he would defeat Goliath that he would also have to deal with his relatives at some point and time.

“And that is the mindset we have to have in spiritual warfare – don’t ever think because you took one down that there aren’t some more waiting on the chance to fight you.”

Don’t believe me look at 2 Samuel 21 starting at verse 15:

  1. Goliath (1 Samuel 17)
  2. Ishbi-Benob (vs 15)
  3. Saph (vs 18)
  4. The brother of Goliath the Gittite (vs 19)
  5. There was a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot—twenty-four in all. (vs 20-21)

David did his research, and you must do the same. Its just like finding a mouse. If you find one you can almost guarantee there are more. You must first bind the strongman and then plunder his goods.

NEVER ASSUME that you first success in prayer is all there is, you have to perform extermination of the entire host of evil spirits. You may need more than 5 stones depending on the battle that God has already given you victory in.

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how many stones you need to wipe out every generational curse of rebellion, idolatry, adultery, divorce, witchcraft, pride! He will tell you the information that is needed to do what He called you to do before the foundation of the world!
