A Wise Woman Builds (The Floor)

Good Morning,

The soil has been treated and the cement laid, today we will look at the wood that is used to create the floor and walls.

Wood is used to create the floor and wall frames. However, you cannot just use any type of wood, you have to use “pressure treated lumber.” The wood is pressure treated to get rid of fungi, bacteria and insects. If the wood is not treated it will only last a year or two due to the fact that it is coming in contact with moist ground and would decay. The wood is treated so that it is renewed, preserved and will be steadfast (unmovable) for years to come. Psalm 51:7 – “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.” The Word of God is able to remove the parasitic parts of our lives and build us up to become steadfast and immovable.

The treatment process has two parts: the lumber is immersed in a liquid preservative and placed in a pressure chamber. Now comparing this process to what the Word of God does for us:

(1) Immerse – We have to immerse ourselves in the Word of God which cleanses and preserves – Psalms 1:2-4, Ephesians 5:26: “that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word.”

(2) Pressure Chamber – forces the chemical into the core to ensure it gets all the way into the wood so that it can stand for decades in the house being built.

Hebrews 4:12: “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Your screaming, nagging and complaining only produces temporary fixes and strife. The Word of God cleanses, preserves, transforms and converts permanently! Our prayer today is that our husbands, children, families and ourselves immerse in the Word of God and allow Him to make the floor and wall frames that are steadfast, unmovable and endures until the end.

Prayer

This is the day that the Lord has made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it. We love You and honor You today. I plead the blood of Jesus Christ over every praying wife, husband and family member now in Jesus name. I pray that our delight is in the law of the Lord and in Your law we meditate day and night. I pray that we shall be like trees planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaves shall not wither, and whatever we do shall prosper. (Psalms 1:2-4) I pray that Your Word we will lay up in our hearts, so that We might not sin against You. (Psalm 119:11) That we will delight ourselves in Your statutes; and we will not forget Your Word (Psalm 119:16). We believe that all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that we (men and women of God) may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16)
In Jesus Name, Amen!

Praying Wives Devotional: A Wise Woman Builds – Concrete Foundation

Isaiah 28:16 – “Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.”

Marriages and families may have similarities’ but are different, however the foundation on which these are built is basically the same. Our lives must be built on the foundation of Christ nothing else will last. Ladies, as you pray for your husbands, children etc. you must pray that they have a firm foundation in Christ. The “foundation” is what supports the weight of the entire house. The amount of Word a person has in them stabilizes their foundation causing them to be able to withstand the pressure. In building a home the basement floor(the foundation is laid with concrete). Concrete is made up of three parts: aggregate, cement and water. Look at the symbolism: Aggregate (One God) – forms one unit from parts, Cement (Jesus) – a binder that makes objects adhere together – Jesus was sent to reconcile us to the Father permanently (2 Corinthians 5:18), and Water (Holy Spirit) which helps the concrete to spread and do more (John 16:7).

Jesus Christ (His Word, John 1:1) is our concrete, the song says: “On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.” Today we are going to pray that our husbands, children, and ourselves have the solid foundation of Jesus Christ (His Word). You will decree a thing and it shall be established for you. (Job 22:28)

Note: it can take a while for the cement to harden. A builder cannot build on soggy cement and you cannot rush the process. Allow time for the Word to be established (set firm) in our hearts.
Remember we look upon the outer appearance but God looks at the heart and what is written on it.

Prayer (Find scriptures that you can pray regarding your families foundation in Christ through His Word)

Lord we exalt Your Name. We give You glory, honor and praise that You alone are God. We stand in agreement with Your Word and pray that our husbands, children and ourselves are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone (Ephesians 2:20). We pray that as the rain descends and the floods come and the winds blow and beat upon our house, that we will not fall, for our lives are founded upon the rock (Matthew 7:25) We are grateful that the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows that we are His,” and that we are able to depart from iniquity because we name the name of Christ.”(2 Timothy 2:19) In Jesus name, Amen!

Praying Wives Devotionals: A Wise Woman Builds – The Soil

2 Chronicles 3:1-2: “Then Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David. It was being built on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David. The threshing floor was a place where in simple terms the “productive was separated from the non-productive.”

When a site for the house has been selected the first step is to prepare the soil for where the foundation will be laid. In today’s world, “threshing” uses a machine to clear the soil of any unnecessary debris etc. called a backhoe. The backhoe is three pieces of equipment combined into one unit: tractor, loader and backhoe. Just like the Trinity (God, Son, Holy Spirit) this machine while having specific tasks work together as one to perform this job.

The backhoe digs the trench and then the loader fills and the tractor is the component used for moving and pressing to smooth the ground and make it firm.

God has given us the keys to the Kingdom and the power to bind and loose. (Matthew 16:19) However many times we pray asking God to build new without dealing with past issues of hurt, un-forgiveness, bitterness, anger etc. Every time we begin to pray we need to ask God to perform what the backhoe does. We need to ask God to move powerfully in our hearts, dig up the past hurts, pains etc, and fill it with His Word and with the agape love of  Jesus. We have to forget those things which are behind and press just like the tractor toward the mark making the ground solid. We cannot do this by ourselves we need God’s help and admitting that we need His help is the first step.

The foundation of a home must be laid on soil that is solid. Homes built on less than solid soil can cause serious structural issues that are very costly to repair.  Let’s pray today and ask God to heal ourselves,  husbands, children and family of the debris of our past so that in laying the new foundation in your marriage, family or business the past won’t cause the structure to crack.

 Prayer

Lord we praise honor and adore You. We thank You for this is the day that You have made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it. We call on You today Lord to be Jehovah Rapha in our lives. I plead the precious blood of Jesus over each and every praying wife and their husbands today. I ask Lord God that You would heal all past pains of physical/sexual abuse, drug use, broken-heartedness, un-forgiveness, adultery, bitterness, rejection, betrayal and that You would replace those things with Your Word and Your unconditional love. Perform heart-transplants removing the hearts of stone and giving each and every one of us the hearts of flesh. You were wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon You and by Your stripes we were healed. Fill us with Your love, for Your love covers a multitude of sins. We thank You that as we have done this now we can begin to build/rebuild our homes and lives on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ. Lord I ask that You wipe away every tear and that the joy of the Lord will be our strength. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Praying Wives Devotional: A Wise Woman Builds

I wanted to give you an introduction of what God has impressed upon me to begin a series entitled “A Wise Woman Builds.”

In these devotionals I will be associating the spiritual building using the Word of God to the actual building of a house when builders work the process of constructing an actual home. As I am studying this I see and understand much of the correlation that the Word of God uses in describing how or why our lives must be established on His Word.  Praying the Word of God and speaking the Word of God is necessary to see change in every aspect of our lives in connection with our faith which is an action word. You must show that you believe that you believe what you are reading and speaking.

Let’s be honest it takes faith to believe what you cannot see when what you do see smacks you in the face every day. But that is what faith is, it is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

The Word of God is what is used to build our lives spiritually which results in natural manifestations.

Matthew 16:18-19: “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

One thing that I would like to note is that this house that is being built occupies everyone in the household. Meaning that we as praying wives are of course praying for our husbands but there are other rooms in the house that occupy children or in some cases other family members that you care for and yourself.

God is faithful and as we build or in some cases rebuild on the foundation of Jesus Christ we will see our homes more stable and weather-resistant against life’s situations and circumstances.

Get your tools together and get ready to build! 🙂
