Wedding traditions include the “tradition” of the bride receiving three things: something new, something old, something borrowed and SOMETHING BLUE. The Lord gave me some revelation into the “something blue” that I would like to share with you.
The color blue represents the Ruach HaKodesh, or Holy Spirit of God. Therefore the color blue is representative of covering yourself with the presence of God. Blue also represented something divine, which is why royal blue set people apart from the rest of the common world in biblical times. Therefore, to have a something blue represents having something divine and royal, and served to remind each wearer of his significance in God’s sight.
To all wives or wives to be I want you to look at this as not a tradition or just something you do on your wedding day. Actually the wedding day is just the beginning as you begin your marital journey including the very presence of God in your marital covenant. That “blue” is significant to the fact that NO matter what you face in your marriage that because the Holy Spirit is that part of the 3fold cord that your situation is fully capacitated by the very presence of God and that His Divinity and Royalty are a constant reminder to those looking on or possibly tampering with your purpose and destiny that God is involved.
The Holy Spirit is there. He is real. If your marriage is perfect great, STILL acknowledge Him. If your marriage is not great, Acknowledge Him. Let divinity and royalty touch your situation.
