Art 101: Imposing Faith
Hebrews Chapter 11 is noted as being the hallmark of fame in the bible. In detail it explained different biblical people and how faith was their mechanism for reaching the promise. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen; it is in essence a supernatural occurrence that is very real but invisible. Those promises that we have yet to see fulfilled in the natural realm, lie in the real but unseen realm.
One night my Pastor preached a message “From process to the promise.”
An artist has a technique which by terminology is called “impose.” Impose is a process that is used to complete a finished product. Impose to an artist means to print an image over another image so that both are seen at once. Another definition of impose is to lay on or set as something to be borne, endured, obeyed, fulfilled or paid with authority.
When we pray the Word, we are actually imposing the Word of God with the delegated authority that He has given us, laying the Word on or setting it on top of our natural circumstances which births the promise after we have endured, obeyed God who fulfilled and paid everything by placing His Son on the Cross. What we have to understand is that when laying the Word of God over a particular situation, the Word of God transforms that situation into what you are praying. For example, when the Word (Spiritual) is laid on top of cancer (Natural), the Word of God regarding healing has the ability to transform that cancer into healing.
One of the main tactics of the enemy is trying and to get us focus on what we see with our natural eyes (I am preaching to the choir on this note) instead of the fact that the solution which is in the Word of God has ‘imposing authority” when spoken in faith over our circumstances and situations. Let me use the movie the Matrix as an example, there is a character named Agent Smith. Agent Smith has the ability to touch another person and make them look like him, act like him and think like him. We have the same ability in imposing faith; remember we are made in the image and likeness of God. We can reach into our situations, speak the Word of God by faith with authority and by imposing the supernatural over the natural transforming that situation to look like, act like and think like the Word of God. We walk by faith and not by sight. Close your natural eyes and walk in imposing faith today.
